Louisa is a clinical psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Louisa has with experience working in a range of areas, including the private practice setting, acute care, and the school environment. Louisa has worked with a range of mental health issues including, depression, anxiety, psychosis, schizophrenia, personality disorders, trauma, relationships issues, and attachment issues. Louisa has published research on resilience, mindfulness and psychological distress in university students, and also in the areas of alexithymia, relationship satisfaction, fear of intimacy and attachment.
 

A comprehensive understanding of mental and emotional issues plays an essential role in psychological wellbeing and Louisa is focused on providing this understanding and knowledge to her clients, assisting them to achieve a sense of empowerment and control. Louisa has a passion for helping people on their unique journey through life and as such, her therapy is tailored to suit each individual, drawing on different treatment approaches. Through an authentic, non-judgemental and collaborative relationship with each client, Louisa offers a trusting and confidential environment for her clients to learn new skills and make meaningful changes to achieve their goals.

Louisa uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, The Gottman Method, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (Tapping).
